We went to the bamboo market near Shivajinagar on 11th august,tuesday to see how it all works.
There was a very helpful man who showed us around the place and explained everything to us.
There are 2 types of bamboos: hollow and solid.
The solid ones are used for construction purposes and hollow for other purposes.
Approx. prices:
Rs. 70 for a thin one (30 ft or so)
Rs. 130 for a thicker one (30 ft or so)
Price increases with width and height.
The bamboos can be upto a maximum height of 150 feet.
They provide both bamboo as a material to craftsmen and finished products.
