Making prototypes

Yesterday, we created prototypes of:
-cd stand
-elaborate floating candle holder
-single floating candle holder
-normal candle holder

today, we will make them finished with something called, 'melamine'. It gives the products a subtle touchwood-varnishy look. We also plan to carve the burnt bamboos with small designs.
The waterproofing for the floating candle holders (as they will be filled with water) will be taken care of by the melamine.

I was also experimenting with small filigree-quilling inspired bamboo jewelry designs. I made necklaces, earrings, etc. They are quite attractive looking. I'm posting images. People please comment!

The basic thing about quilling, filigree and bamboo, is that they all use the same basic methods.

A thin strip of uniform length is used and twirled around to create designs, and these designs can be used then, as parts of a greater design.
In filigree its a silver strip, in quilling a paper strip, and in bamboo a bamboo strip.
